Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic stated that a conflict within Bosniak people is happening in Sandzak, southwest Serbia, adding that the interethnic tension will probably rise given the situation.

According to him, the request of Chief Mufti of the Islamic Community Zukorlic for international observers to be sent to Sandzak conceals a policy aimed at scoring cheap political points, while the very message is intended for the media and public in Sandzak.

"Zukorlic's greatest interest would be any form of confrontation, while the worst that could happen are the incidents involving the authorities and repressive measures, which would be completely pointless," Ljajic said for the RTS. Ljajic is certain that the plan involving the international observers will not be realized, adding that in the manner, Zukorlic would only like to present himself as a defender of the national policy.

The situation will not be solved by a verbal or any other kind of confrontation, but rather by a completely different approach to the people living in Sandzak, the minister said, adding that in this type of policy, everyone is a loser.
