Head of the International Civilian Office in Pristina Pieter Feith said that Kosovo status is a non-negotiable issue, but however added that he supports talks on matters related to the life of Kosovo citizens.
After a meeting of the group for decentralization, over which Feith presides together with Kosovo Minister of Local Government Administration Sadri Ferati, the EU official stressed that the status of Kosovo is a solved matter and that no new negotiations in this respect are being considered.
The Dutch diplomat supported the stand of Kosovo institutions that the Martti Ahtisaari Plan be the basis for the resolution of the situation in northern Kosovo, and ruled out a possibility that this part of Kosovo be granted special status.
Ferati also believes that Pristina and Belgrade should discuss topics that are in the interest of all Kosovo citizens.
