The doctors of the Gracanica hospital, central Kosovo, organized a 1-minute performance on Wednesday to draw attention to the fact that their landline and cell phones have been disconnected for two months and that the situation is becoming intolerable.

At 12:05 the doctors turned on the emergency lights on five ambulances for one minute and put chained cell phones on the vehicles.

The phones symbolized the inability to use phone communication, the 60 seconds that the performance lasted symbolized the two months that the phone lines have been disconnected, while the time of the performance was chosen to show that the time had run out, says an anonuncement from the hospital.

On September 26, the Kosovo authorities cut off phone communications in most of Kosovo for those people who had been using the service provided by two Serbian operators, Telekom Srbija and Telenor.

The past two months have been extremely difficult, since the patients cannot call for help and the medical teams cannot coordinate, while lives are at stake, head of the emergency ward Sasa Miric stated.

Editor of the hospital's internet domain Nikola Kostic thanked all media companies that helped the hospital during the last two months.

The hospital staff appealed to all those who are in a position to help to try and get the phone signal back online, according to the announcement.
