Serbian President Boris Tadic has stated that in 2011 the Serbian citizens will have another very difficult year, adding that the state will not be boosting the living standard in artificial ways, through large debts.

At the opening of the Local Self Government Fair, Tadic said that after decades of irrational management of the state, Serbia must develop realistic economy.

For the first time in the past few decades we are making an effort to spend as much as we earn, because it is the investment in our children, he underlined.

The President has pointed that due to unbalanced development, the problems are not equally tangible in all parts of the country, which requires a higher degree of solidarity among municipalities.

In that context, Tadic has appealed for the solidarity with Kraljevo, which was struck by an earthquake few days ago. He has stressed that the Government does not dispose with unlimited treasury, so the municipalities must find their own ways of attracting investors.
