President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Milos Bugarin said Wednesday that the Chamber has proposed to the highest state bodies a series of measures designed to help the Kraljevo economy recover from the recent earthquake, noting that there are around 1,400 businesses in the town.
After a meeting with presidents of the business chambers in Serbia held in Kraljevo, Bugarin told reporters that PKS has sent memos to Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, the competent ministries and the National Bank of Serbia proposing that Kraljevo businesses be granted reductions in direct and indirect financial obligations for a certain period.
The measure would be aimed at helping businesses start production as soon as possible.
The second proposal is the restructuring of loans from the Development Fund and business banks, with a minimum grace period of one year, which would contribute to the revitalization of the Kraljevo economy, he said.
PKS also launched an initiative to establish a solidarity fund, to which PKS itself would contribute RSD 10 million, while regional, provincial and the Belgrade chamber of commerce would also put up funds, Bugarin announced.
PKS also passed a decision to put one-day earnings of the employees of all business chambers in Serbia into a special account to help the reconstruction effort.
