Foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece, Nikolai Mladenov, Vuk Jeremic and Dimitris Droutsas, respectively, expressed strong support to EU integrations of the countries of Western Balkans on a trilateral meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria Saturday.

The ministers adopted joint declaration on European future of the region.

Greek FM Droutsas said that Serbia could become EU member in 2018, during the Bulgaria's presidency, and the three ministers agreed that the final decision on exact date of EU integration of Western Balkans countries should be made in 2014.

Year 2018 is a possible date which also has a very symbolic meaning, because it will be hundred years since the end of WWI. It is also very realistic date, since Bulgaria will take over the EU presidency, Droutsas told the members of the press after the meeting.

Jeremic said that Serbia will make considerable efforts so as to begin negotiations with Brussels and added that Belgrade will be ready for talks already in 2011.

Jeremic thanked his colleagues on the support that their respective countries give to Serbia's EU integration and proposed the strengthening of the regional cooperation and Mladenov and Droutsas promised help to Serbia on its EU pathway.

According to Mladenov, Greece and Bulgaria have responsibility to help in EU integration of Western Balkans, underscoring that there are three conditions Balkan countries should fulfill – harmonization of legislation, regional cooperation and good relations with their neighbors.
