Valjevo: Due to gauze shortage only emergency surgeries

Predrag Zivanovic MD, coordinator of surgeons in Valjevo hospital, told Tanjug Saturday that it was decided to postpone all surgeries except emergency ones, due to gauzes shortage on the market.Emergency surgeries make almost 40 percent of all operations.

Emergency surgeries make almost 40 percent of all operations.

We save the gauze only for emergency surgeries, while the rest are postponed, Zivanovic said, adding that the decision will be in effect until the hospital supply is stabilized.

He expects enough quantity of gauze will be provided during next week, when surgery department will continue its normal work.
