Danubian Strategy presented in Golubac

The Danubian Strategy is a big chance for Serbia and Serbia applied to participate in coordination of projects in the fields of security, infrastructure, economy, knowledge, tourism and media, stated Serbian Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic at the presentation of the Strategy in Golubac on the Danube, eastern Serbia.

He stated that the section of the Danube in Serbia is 588 km long which is represents one fourth of the entire length of this river.
Head of the EU delegation in Serbia Vincent Degert stated that so far the Union has allocated 100 million euros for investments related to the Danube River. He pointed out that the adoption of the Danubian Strategy is important for Serbia that enters a new phase of relations with the EU.
The Danube has a great potential that must be used and that should contribute to economic development and cooperation of the countries through which is flows, emphasized Degert.
He stated that there are four pillars of the Danubian Strategy – infrastructure and connectivity, economic development, environment protection, and management and security.
