Official middle exchange rate at 106.0156 as of January 4

During the holidays, in the period from December 31 to January 4, the Friday official exchange rate will remain valid, while the new exchange rate (EUR 1= RSD 106.0156) will be applied as of January 4.

The dinar will weaken against the euro by 51 paras in the first few days of 2011, thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 106, 0156 as of January 4, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.

On Friday, the central bank sold EUR 40 million at the interbank foreign exchange market so as to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.

During the holidays, in the period from December 31 to January 4, the Friday official exchange rate will remain valid, while the new exchange rate (EUR 1= RSD 106.0156) will be applied as of January 4.

Since the beginning of the year, the NBS has sold EUR 2.579 billion and purchased EUR 226.5 million at the foreign exchange market.

The dinar hit its highest this year on January 4, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 95.9679, and its lowest on November 4, with the exchange rate at RSD 107.5216.
