SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic submitted 304,580 signatures Thursday, all demanding the Constitution be changed and number of MPs halved.

Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic said Friday that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) proposal to amend the Constitution and reduce the number of parliament members from 250 to 125 could be on the agenda in March.

The procedure requires at least a month for a proposal to be put on the parliament agenda, Djukic-Dejanovic told reporters.

"I will schedule a meeting of the constitutional issues committee the moment I am certain they would have quorum, which will happen when the delegation to Strasbourg returns at the beginning of February," she noted.
