A session of the G17 Plus Presidency, at which the party will choose the candidate for health minister, will not be held this week after all, but should happen by the end of the month, G17 Plus Political Director Vladimir Ilic said Tuesday.

A session of the G17 Plus Presidency, at which the party will choose the candidate for health minister, will not be held this week after all, but should happen by the end of the month, G17 Plus Political Director Vladimir Ilic said Tuesday.

Serbia's health care system is a sensitive issue and there should not be any rash decisions, so the presidency will not meet this week, Ilic told a news conference.

“We expect that personnel decisions important for the operation of the health care system will be made in the coming period, that is, we expect a session will be held and a candidate proposed by the end of the month,” Ilic said.

Former Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic, member of G17 Plus, resigned the post on Friday, citing “deeply personal reasons,” and party officials said at the time that the presidency could meet this week to select a new ministerial candidate.
