Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac today opened the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine at the Military Medical Academy (VMA), on the occasion of 167 years since the establishment of this medical facility.
Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac today opened the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine at the Military Medical Academy (VMA), on the occasion of 167 years since the establishment of this medical facility.
Sutanovac said that the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, the first of its kind in Serbia, which cost RSD 70 million, will be used for rehabilitation and recuperation and will be available to both soldiers and civilians.
He said that the centre is equipped with state-of-the art devices and this investment is one of the most significant investments in recent years owing to which the VMA has returned to the very top of hospitals in the region both in terms of diagnostics and the treatment system.
The Minister voiced hope that this trend will continue and that the VMA will become the best military, but also civil hospital in the Balkans.
The ceremony was attended by Rector of the University of Defence Major General Miodrag Jevtic and Director of the VMA Marijan Novakovic, the Chief of Serbian Army General Staff, General Miloje Miletic and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army and religious organisations.
