Slobodan Petrovic, General Director of Imlek, one of the biggest companies in Serbia's dairy industry, has told Tanjug that further shortages of milk in Serbia are unlikely as the production is slowly increasing, while consumption is still not growing.

Slobodan Petrovic, General Director of Imlek, one of the biggest companies in Serbia's dairy industry, has told Tanjug that further shortages of milk in Serbia are unlikely as the production is slowly increasing, while consumption is still not growing.

“Serbia is still not producing enough milk,” Petrovic pointed out, but added, however, that there was less consumption, as we saw a decrease in purchasing power.

“We entered this year with prices between 15 and 20 percent higher than in the same period last year, but with it came the lower purchasing power, which obviously exists in Serbia, and demand has decreased,” he explained.
