Increase in food prices in Serbia are not a result of abuse of monopoly position of domestic companies, but are rather due to the “dramatic” situation regarding the movement in food prices in the world, according to Secretary of Association of Agriculture at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Milan Prostran.
Since 2007, the food sector in the world has seen dramatic developments, with price escalation beginning in the second half of last year, Prostran pointed out.
