The General Consul, Theodhoros Oikonomou, has returned to Korca. He had an official meeting with the Consulate’s employees on Tuesday, March 8, where he took information on the work that was carried during the three weeks of his absence.

Monday, March 7, was a national holiday because of a religious celebration. The Consulate started work on Tuesday, including even the sectors that need the presence, the signature and the stamp of the consul.

Starting from Wednesday, they will open even the windows for citizens who need consular services. We need to emphasize that never have the Consulate’s employees ask consul Oikonomou to leave.

They continued work to fulfill the needs of all persons who applied for 100-day visas.

The special thing was that the passports and the visas were returned to them after 2 or 3 days, because they were sent in Greece in order to be signed by Oikonomou.

Consul Theodhoros Oikonomou retreated himself from the Greek government after the reactions that were caused by his declaration on the 20th anniversary of Omonia, which were related to the Greek nationality of orthodox citizens in Korca.
