President of the Vojvodina government Bojan Pajtic stated on Tuesday that Belgian companies are ready to invest considerable funds in Serbia, which would provide several Vojvodina municipalities with an opportunity for economy development, new investments and opening of new jobs.
Pajtic conferred in the Vojvodina government with Belgian Minister and chairman of Belgium's Electrawinds company Johan Vande Lanotte, Electrawinds' owner Paul Desender and Belgian Ambassador to Serbia Alain Kundycki, the Vojvodina information secretariat released on Tuesday.
Electrawind intends to invest in several Vojvodina municipalities, including Indjija, south-central Vojvodina, with which it signed a contract worth EUR 22 million last year.
The investment is aimed at construction of a factory for processing animal waste which should employ around 100 people, which would be Electrawinds' first investment in Serbia.
Belgian investors are also interested in building a wind park with a capacity of 48.3 megawatts in Alibunar, south-east Serbia, the release reads.
