A meeting was held today at the Chamber of Foreign Trade of BH (VTK) to discuss the position of firms that have ongoing contracts in Libya, in the light of latest political developments in this country.

It was concluded that domestic firms are suffering great damage, but hope to return to the market eventually. Some of them, like Hidrogradnja, have been operating in the market of Libya for over four decades.

The evacuation of the last group of its workers was finalized today, and an assessment of losses will be done in the following days. VTK is also exploring opportunities for (sub)contracting work in the Asian-Pacific zone through Turkish partners, to offset losses in Libya.

Chairman on the Council of Peoples of BH Nikola Spiric met today with Libya's ambassador to BH, and told him that it is in the interest of economy of BH to return to this country as soon as possible.

There are more than 500 contracts signed by the two countries.
