Croatian President Ivo Josipovic has invited leaders of all the parliamentary parties to meet and discuss the country’s stability, the daily Jutarnji List writes.

"Without a stable state, entrepreneurs cannot do business, and Croatia cannot be a good and equal member of the European Union," the President said.

Commenting on several anti-government protests that have swept the country, Josipovic said that people are protesting because they are dissatisfied.

"Not because it is a pleasure for them to walk the streets and protest or throw eggs but they protest because it is difficult for them because they do not have jobs because they work but do not receive salaries because their families are hungry," Josipovic said.

He added that Croatia needs stability in order to solve those problems and that political and economic stability depend on each other.
