Serbian parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic said Friday that Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic has forwarded to the parliament nominations for new ministers.
Djukic-Dejanovic told Tanjug that she will schedule for Monday a session with a single topic on the agenda - the proposal for government reshuffle, election of new ministers and their taking of oaths.
The debate will probably last all day and new ministers might take their oaths late in the evening, she said.
The goal of the government reshuffle is to rationalize and raise the efficiency of the administration and reduce public expenditure, she said.
The parliament received earlier on Friday the resignations of 14 ministers, including eight who are definitely leaving the government.
They are Diana Dragutinovic (finance), Sasa Dragin (agriculture), Slobodan Milosavljevic (trade), Bogoljub Sijakovic (religion), Svetozar Ciplic (human and minority rights), Petar Skundric (energy), Jasna Matic (telecommunications) and Nebojsa Bradic (culture).
Six ministers will remain in office, but with additional portfolios.
Bozidar Djelic will remain deputy prime minister but will no longer be minister of science, Milutin Mrkonjic will be minister of infrastructure and energy, Milan Markovic minister for public administration, local self-government and human and minority rights, Zarko Obradovic minister of education and science, Oliver Dulic minister of environment, mining and spatial planning and Srdjan Sreckovic minister of religion and the diaspora.
