Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Gia Khiem agreed Sunday there is a lot of potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in different areas.

After a meeting with the Vietnamese foreign minister, Jeremic said that he is grateful for the Asian country's principled support in not recognizing Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence.

"The history of our relations is a history of mutual support and understanding," Jeremic said and added that today's visit strengthened the already excellent relations between the two countries.

We discussed opportunities in economy, culture and defense, Jeremic said.

Pham Gia Khiem, the first Vietnamese foreign minister to visit Serbia, said that Vietnam can export more agricultural products to Serbia.

We want to increase the number of mutual high-level visits, he said.

The two ministers also discussed the upcoming conference of the Non-Allied Movement in Belgrade, which will also include a Vietnamese delegation.
