Director of the Serbian Privatization Agency Vladislav Cvetkovic said Saturday he expected the trade in Telekom Srbija shares to begin by July this year.
All of the necessary decisions by the government and Telekom should be adopted within the next two months to allow the free shares that will be distributed to citizens to be put on the market, Cvetkovic explained.
Telekom is supposed to change the nominal share value, which is currently at RSD 10,000, he noted.
The whole procedure is up to Telekom and the government as the majority owner, he remarked, adding it was also important that Telekom transformed into a public company.
Cvetkovic also states that it remains to be seen if the new EUR 2.4 billion price tag for 100 percent of Telekom assets is going to be accepted and nominal share value determined based on that or the old book value of around EUR 1 billion is going to stay.
The people should know that the nominal value has no affect on the shares' market price, he added.
According to Cvetkovic, the government should also decide to transfer the free shares to the citizens' accounts in the Central Securities Depisotory and Clearing House.
The exact number of shares and their nominal value should be known only after this procedure is completed.
