According to the latest records of Serbia's National Employment Service (NSZ), some 750.000 people in Serbia are unemployed, which is 2.000 less compared to the first six months of 2010.

The negative three-year trend of unemployment rate increase in Serbia has stopped over the past few months and the number of new jobs is on a slight rise.

According to the latest records of Serbia's National Employment Service (NSZ), some 750.000 people in Serbia are unemployed, which is 2.000 less compared to the first six months of 2010.

The employment programme and active employment measures the NSZ has been implementing have a positive effect on the reduction of the number of unemployed individuals, the NSZ pointed out.

Since 2008, Serbia's unemployment rate has been on a constant rise and increased from 14.4 per cent to 16.9 per cent in 2009, and totalled 19.2 per cent at the end of 2010.
