China fully respects the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Serbia and it is committed to a peaceful resolution of the Kosovo issue through dialogue, all in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, Tanjug learned at the Chinese Embassy, following the latest events in northern Kosovo.

The Chinese Embassy voiced concern over the tensions in the northern part of Kosovo, as well as regret over the activities of the administration in Pristina which had stirred up the tensions.

Bearing in mind the fact that the situation in northern Kosovo is fragile and delicate due to the ethnic minorities that live there, all interested parties should be very cautious and work towards building harmony, Tanjug learned.

China, therefore, calls on the parties to remain calm and restraint, all for the sake of peace and stability in the region.
