A session of four municipal assemblies of north Kosovo will be held in Leposavic on Tuesday, and by that time the barricades will stay where they are, it was announced in Zvecan on Saturday after the end of consultations of representatives of four municipalities in north Kosovo.

A session of four municipal assemblies of north Kosovo will be held in Leposavic on Tuesday, and by that time the barricades will stay where they are, it was announced in Zvecan on Saturday after the end of consultations of representatives of four municipalities in north Kosovo.

However, the citizens decided to stay at the barricades by the time the local authorities reach an agreement on removal of the roadblocks.

The consultations confirmed that KFOR units will still have freedom of movement to perform their duties in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

The joint session on August 9 will discuss the ongoing political and security situation with special focus on the agreement reached between representatives of the Serbian government and the KFOR commander, the statement reads.

A peaceful night went by in north Kosovo after an agreement on the regime at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings was reached between representatives of the Serbian government and KFOR on Friday evening.

The decision on removal of the roadblocks should be rendered at a session of assemblies of four north Kosovo municipalities, which is scheduled for the beginning of next week. The consultations within assemblies will start on Saturday, Kosovska Mitrovica Municipal President Krsmir Pantic told Tanjug on Friday evening.

By that time, the barricades in north Kosovo will stay on the roads.

In Zvecan, KFOR and other vehicles will be able to use alternative roads, while the barricade in the village of Rudare will not be removed.

The barricades will stay on the roads in Zubin Potok, Zupce and Leposavic, but each will have one lane open for traffic.

Passenger traffic is being let through at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings without significant delay.
