Kosovo Trade and Industry Minister Mimoza Kusari-Lila said on Aug. 15 that only Kosovo customs stamps would be used at administrative crossings with Serbia proper.

Kosovo Trade and Industry Minister Mimoza Kusari-Lila said on Aug. 15 that only Kosovo customs stamps would be used at administrative crossings with Serbia proper.

Commenting on Belgrade media reports on an alleged Serbian proposal to introduce dual stamps, she said this would not be acceptable to the Kosovo side.

Kusari-Lila said there had been plans to discuss the customs stamps at the very beginning of the negotiating process, in March, but that the Belgrade team had "complicated the situation" and caused the current circumstances on the field.

Kosovo Customs spokesman Adriatik Stavileci said the stamp had never included the words "Republic of Kosovo Customs" and that the stamp, reading only "Customs of Kosovo," had been recognized by all European Union members and other European countries, except Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
