Minister of Justice Snezana Malovic met today in London with her British counterpart Lord Tom McNally to discuss bilateral cooperation between their countries and Britain’s support to Serbia’s judicial reform and EU integration.
Malovic told Tanjug news agency that she and McNally looked at the cooperation between their states in the filed of judiciary and fight against organised crime and corruption.
We agreed that the cooperation between our two countries is at a high level, she said, adding that she received assurances from McNally that Great Britain will help Serbia on its path to EU integration, as well as assist with the tailoring of the Serbian justice system with that of the EU with the aim of respecting human rights, democratisation of society and boosting the rule of law.
We will step up our cooperation in terms of processing acts of organised crime, especially drug trafficking, and we will try to further intensify this cooperation, the Minister stated.
At the meeting, Britain’s support for the education and adjustment of the Serbian justice system for processing criminal acts of corruption, primarily in public procurements, was also agreed upon.
Malovic is on a two-day visit to London at the invitation of the British Ministry of Justice, where she will attend a traditional ceremony of opening the legal year in England and Wales.
