Raspberry producers are demanding that the current purchase price, which is RSD85-95 per kilogram, be raised to RSD100, and that the state pay a RSD26 subsidy per kilogram for exports.

Raspberry farmers in western Serbia, who have been demanding state subsidies for raspbery exports, will call the protests off for now after a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Union of Raspberry Producers leader Dragan Terzic said on Oct. 9.

In a statement to BETA, Terzic said Dacic had pledged to bring the question up problem to Serbian President Boris Tadic during a cabinet session, after which a meeting would be scheduled with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Terzic went on to say that said raspberry producers had agree to being paid by March 31, 2012, which means that disbursements will be subject to next year's budget.
