The stand of the EULEX mission about the situation in northern Kosovo is unchanged, and the roadblocks must be removed, the mission's spokeswoman, Irina Gudeljevic, stated on Oct. 27.

The stand of the EULEX mission about the situation in northern Kosovo is unchanged, and the roadblocks must be removed, the mission's spokeswoman, Irina Gudeljevic, stated on Oct. 27.

"As for the situation in northern Kosovo, our stand remains unchanged. With the aim of improving and fully establishing the rule of law in northern Kosovo, the roadblocks must be removed," it said in the statement by Irina Gudeljevic to BETA.

The EU mission in Kosovo requests the roadblocks to be removed so that the members of KFOR, EULEX and other international institutions, and the population, are able to move freely.

On Oct. 27, the Serbs in northern Kosovo removed some of the roadblocks in order for KFOR to be able to supply its troops at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings. The Serbs stipulated the passage of EULEX with this mission no longer transporting the Kosovo customs and police officers to the crossings in northern Kosovo.

Irina Gudeljevic recollected that, at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings, the EULEX mission is helping the implementation of the agreement on the customs stamp, which representatives of Belgrade and Pristina reached in Brussels on Nov. 2.

The same request was made by KFOR.
