The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy stated that Italy’s Ducati Energia intends to expand its business operations by moving a part of its production of hi-tech goods to Serbia.

Ducati Energia President and Co-president of the Italian-Serbian Business Council Guidalberto Guidi said in a meeting with Serbian Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milutin Mrkonjic that Ducati Energia intends to open a factory in Serbia to produce safety devices for railroads, ticket machines for road tolls and public buses and spare parts for the electric industry.

The company has factories in Romania, Croatia, Argentina and India which hire between 200 and 800 workers each, and the factory in Serbia will take on about the same number of workers.

Agreement has been reached to hold a meeting next week with representatives of the Italian company and Serbian companies in the electric sector, railroad and road infrastructure interested in cooperation.

Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varicchio also attended the meeting, the statement adds.
