Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic will start his visit to the United Kingdom on Friday, during which he will meet UK Foreign Secretary William Hague.

On Friday evening, Jeremic will deliver a lecture entitled “The Balkans in times of strategic adjustment” at the Royal Holloway College which often organizes lectures by renowned political figures, such as EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.

Together with President of the Serbian Olympic Committee Vlade Divac, the foreign minister will on Sunday open the Serbian House in central London, which will be the venue for various gatherings aimed at promoting Serbia, the Serbian culture and economy during the 2012 Olympics.

Jeremic will end the visit on Monday with the talks with his British counterpart William Hague. The UK ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia, and is one of the countries which strongly support the EU integration of Serbia and other Western Balkan countries, and opposes the view held by some EU member states that the enlargement process should be halted for some time after Croatia's entry.

As regards the investments in Serbia, the UK holds the fifth position, and improvement in business environment could lead to an increase in British investments. Next year, Serbia and the UK will mark 175 years of diplomatic relations.
