Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) Presidency on Friday expelled Diaspora Minister Srdjan Sreckovic and State Secretary Sanja Cekovic from the party, SPO has released.

The party said in the release that Sreckovic and Cekovic were expelled due to gross violation of the Statute, disrespect of the party’s decisions and refusal to comply with the SPO Presidency’s request to resign from their positions in the Serbian government.

SPO stressed that the issue of Sreckovic and Cekovic has ceased to be “the party’s internal issue”, as the Democratic Party (DS) put it, and that it was a coalition issue that could only be resolved with their dismissal.

According to the announcement, all SPO Presidency members, except Cekovic, voted in favor of the proposal.
