During the visit, Dacic and Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police Tony Negus will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian Ministry of the Interior and the Australian Federal Police on combating transnational crime and developing police cooperation.

The Ministry of the Interior today stated that First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic is on a working visit to Australia.

During the visit, Dacic and Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police Tony Negus will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian Ministry of the Interior and the Australian Federal Police on combating transnational crime and developing police cooperation.

This Memorandum is the first international legal act signed by the police forces of these two states and it will represent a future legal framework for cooperation in the fight against transnational organised crime.

During the working visit to Australia, Dacic will hold a series of meetings with Australian officials, and representatives of the Australian police and the Serbian diaspora there.

Dacic will also meet with Australian Minister of Home Affairs Jason Clare, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Chris Bowen, Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism Bill Paterson and Director General for Security David Irwin.

During the visit, Dacic will speak with representatives of the Australian parliament – members of the Serbia-Australia friendship group and members of the Australian parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.
