Defence cooperation between Serbia and Turkey is on the rise and such trend should be preserved to mutual interest, Serbian state secretary for Defence Tanja Miscevic and Undersecretary in the Turkish Defence Ministry Lt. Gen. Umit Dundar stated.

During a bilateral defence meeting held in Turkey on Wednesday, Miscevic and Dundar especially pointed to the importance of Turkey's engagement in the conversion of Morava military airport near Kraljevo, central Serbia, into a civilian facility, the
Serbian Defence Ministry posted on its website.

In 2012, cooperation will take the form of exchange of high-level visits, special unit trainings, education and continuation of the previously initiated projects, officials stated at the meeting.

During her visit to Turkey, Miscevic conferred with Defence Industry Undersecretary Murad Bayar and representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
