Director of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic said that the Serbian government today invited the workers of Kragujevac arms factory Zastava Oruzje to end the strike, as a solution to their problems will be found soon.

Mihajlovic told a press conference held after the session of the Serbian government that the government will not allow workers to be left without health care.

He said that the solution for around 2000 workers of the Kragujevac factory, who are in protest since 20 February, is being sought in cooperation with the Health Insurance Office.

At today’s session the government decided to enrol 100 first year students, financed from the state budget, in the Criminal Police Academy in 2012/13.

Mihajlovic added that the government also passed a Bill on administrative procedure aimed at simplifying this procedure and harmonising it with the Serbian Constitution and international standards.

He stated that the government passed bills ratifying Serbia’s agreements on cooperation with other countries, namely with Algeria in defence, with Slovakia concerning the protection of personal data and with Ukraine in road transportation.

The government decided to declare 2012 the year of surveying activities in Serbia, Mihajlovic observed, adding that the Serbian Geodetic Authority this year celebrates its 175th anniversary and the completion of the project to compose a modern Serbian real estate cadastre.
