The pre-trial judge of the Kosovska Kamenica Municipal Court has considered the proposition by the municipal public prosecutor of the city of Gnjilane (eastern Kosovo) and decided to let the two suspects, Dragan Marinkovic and Ratomir Trajkovic, out on remand until the trial is completed.
The two postal workers were arrested by members of the Kosovo police at the Bela Zemlja crossing point while transporting mail from central Serbia to Kosovo on Thursday. Kosovo police spokesman Ismet Hasani said that they had been arrested on suspicion of illegal trade because they had been carrying a total 1.225 bills to collect fees for the Serbian postal and telecommunications services.
The case against the two employees of Posta Srbije, both from the village of Ugljare near Pristina, is still underway because investigative actions are ongoing, and the two men have an obligation to report to the judge at their municipality once a week.
