Approximately 20,000 people took part in a memorial Walk for Zoran on March 10, organized by the Liberal Democratic Party in remembrance of March 12, 2003 the day when Serbian premier Zoran Djindjic was shot.

The marchers which were estimated by the police to be 18,000-strong while the organizers says that 20,000 attended. The procession started off from the headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party to the Serbian government building, where people laid flowers on the spot where Djindjic was shot in the government yard.

Led by Liberal Democratic Party president Cedomir Jovanovic, Serbian Renewal Movement Vuk Draskovic, Social Democratic Union leader Zarko Korac, the march ended with marchers laying flowers on Djindjic's grave and lighting candles in the Hall of Greats in the New Cemetery, where the premier was laid to rest.

"Years have passed, yet time hasn't diminished the importance of the ideas espoused by Zoran Djindjic. This walk is a symbol of respect to Zoran, but also of a willingness to commit to the work to which he devoted his life," Jovanovic said in the courtyard of the Serbian government building, adding that modernizing Serbia was an obligation, that the people owed Djindjic, the nation, future generations and Serbia that.
