After more than an hour halt, three EULEX vehicles, which Serbs blocked in the village of Doljane, Zvecan municipality, north Kosovo, on Sunday evening, returned to the village of Jagnjenica, the municipality of Zubin Potok, from where they came from.
Only after KFOR representative Joseph Lynch arrived at the site and talked with citizens and EULEX members, did the three EULEX vehicles turn and go back, while the Serbs disperse.
Thereby, the traffic between Zvecan and Zubin Potok was resumed.
Serbs blocked EULEX jeeps with the aid of their passenger vehicles in the village of Doljane, on the Zvecan-Zubin Potok road on Sunday somewhat before 8 p.m., and thus prevented the mission from reaching the Jarinje administrative crossing.
According to Serbs, it has been agreed that only three EULEX jeeps per day can be let through on their way to the north of the province.
This is the sixth time in the last few weeks that local Serbs have curtailed the freedom of movement to the EULEX mission.
A regular meeting between representatives of the north Kosovo local self-governments and international missions in Kosovo is to be held on Wednesday.
Earlier on Sunday, due to a blockage in the village of Zupce traffic towards Zubin Potok was suspended for five hours, while KFOR closed the checkpoint in the village of Jagnjenica in response to the blockage of the EULEX vehicles.
