Member of the Democratic Party (DS) presidency Bozidar Djelic said Saturday that before government is formed, it was necessary to reach as broad as possible a consensus between all parliamentary parties, trade unions and international partners about a range of key measures to stabilize the economic and financial situation.
In an interview with Tanjug, Djelic said that although it was not certain if the DS would be the actor to form the government, the party was not shying away from responsibilities entrusted upon it by the voters, which it was willing to bear if all partners showed readiness to share both the good and evil of the duties.
He added that Serbia should learn from countries fairing the best throuh the economic crisis, such as Germany, and make a social agreement about the challenges coming with the second tide of the economic crisis, to come to know how to share the burden of the crisis and to ensure that the most threatened ones be the most protected ones.
With its feet on such a social and political arrangement, said Djelic, Serbia will be in a much stronger position to seek support from the international community, primarily from the EU and the International Monetary Fund.
