On the occasion of the Day of the Ministry of the Interior and Police, 250 police officers took an oath at the police headquarters in Belgrade.

Chief of Police Miladin Despotovic and Belgrade Police Chief General Stevan Bjelic welcomed the new police officers.

The job that you have chosen is very difficult, sometimes dangerous, but honour and integrity are stronger than any difficulty and danger before you, said Despotovic. He also told them that they have sworn to serve the citizens and Serbia.

Bjelic noted that it is not easy to be a police officer in a metropolis with two million people.

However, Belgrade despite all the challenges and risks is one of the safest cities in the region, he said.

He asked the new police officers to make the work of the Police Department in Belgrade more efficient and to maintain the level of security in the capital of Serbia at a high level.
