“Russia has new requirements under the financial model of the South Stream in order to sign agreements on price concessions for the natural gas,” Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev said speaking with the media, FOCUS News Agency reporter informs.

“Russia has new requirements under the financial model of the South Stream in order to sign agreements on price concessions for the natural gas,” Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev said speaking with the media, FOCUS News Agency reporter informs.

“The agreements on around 11% cut in the natural gas price as of April 1 have been sent by Bulgargaz to Gazprom about a couple of weeks ago.

Russia insists on signing a protocol, which engages Bulgaria to make final investment decision on the South Stream gas pipeline project until November 15. We undertook the engagement to sign such an agreement for a final investment decision yet during the negotiations.

However, now some new parameters appeared in this agreement, which concern the financial model of the project, and which we cannot sign at ease because we want to protect the national interests as much as we can.

Thus, we will sign the agreement on investment decision when we are sure that we have protected the national interest and secured the best parameters on this project for Bulgaria,” the minister added.
