The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship will be held according to the approved plans, former President of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and UEFA coordinator for EURO 2012 in Poland Michal Listkiewicz told the Polish sports news agency ASInfo, the UKRINFORM-based Information Center “Ukraine-2012” reported.

"I know that UEFA is not even theoretically considering the possibility of changing the dates or venue of the tournament. And if the matches of EURO 2012 will not be attended by some politicians, it will not matter much. The most important thing is players and fans," said the former head of Polish football.

He said UEFA is 100% sure that Ukraine and Poland will provide a real feast of football, and there is no way to change the format of the tournament.

Listkiewicz also expressed the belief that the two host countries have coped well with the difficult task of preparing for the great event. "We did a good job. We have great stadiums, hotels, airports and training bases for all participating teams," he said.

A reminder that Michal Listkiewicz served as head of the PZPN in April of 2007, when Poland and Ukraine got the right to host the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship 2012.
