Around 40 bands to perform at Nishville

The Nisville International Jazz Festival will host around 40 bands from over 15 countries from August 10 to 15, the organizers announced at a news conference in Belgrade on Friday.

The Nisville International Jazz Festival will host around 40 bands from over 15 countries from August 10 to 15, the organizers announced at a news conference in Belgrade on Friday.

Festival Director Ivan Blagojevic said Nisville will open with a free concert on the River Stage in honor of Saban Bajramovic. A monument to the Nis-born musician was unveiled during last year's festival.

From the festival's lineup, Blagojevic highlighted American jaž singer Jackie Ryan ačompanies by the Larry Vuckovic Trio, Hans Dulfer who will perform with his daughter, saxophone player Candy Dulfer, and the Mungo Jerry Blues Band.

Also appearing is Down Home, a multinational neo-swing quintet, whose music combines Argentinian, Spanish and Serbian sounds.

The recipient of this year's lifetime aćievement award is musician and jaz essayist Miahilo Misa Blam.

Ticket sets cost RSD 3,000, or RSD 2,500 with the students' discount. Individual tickets are RSD 1,000, or RSD 800 for students.
