BiH must continue moving forward towards European integration and a lot of reforms are needed in the country so it could face all challenges, Deputy Director of the European Bank for Restoration and Development (EBRD) for Strategies and Policy Peter Sanfey stated today.
After presenting report on transition for 2011 named ''Crisis and transition: perspectives of people'', Sanfey stated at the press conference in Banja Luka that BiH, compared to other countries in the region ''is in pretty bad situation'' in the sense of business environment, reminding of information of the World Bank.
Public expenditure is also higher in BiH than in other countries, so one of the biggest challenges is reform of conditions for business in BiH then introduction of more efficient administration and attracting foreign investments, because that number decreased.
''Privatization remains to be one of the priorities, especially in FBiH'', Sanfey stated.
Current data show that situation in South-East Europe is pretty difficult in general and that there will not be great growth this year, he added.
For BiH that percentage is forecasted to be o.5% this year.
In EBRD's poll around 1.000 households were questioned in BiH, 60% of citizens in our country stated that crisis greatly affected them and that percentage in the region is around 40%.
Main findings of the report on transition, investment and other activities of EBRS were presented today to representatives of Government of RS, Chamber of Commerce, academic community, NGOs, etc.
