Following black Monday and yesterday’s slight improvement, today the CROBEX Index posted an unbelievable daily gain of +4,96%. The index ended the day at 3,513.24 points, which was +166 points as compared to yesterday’s close.
The improvement in the market was first felt by the construction sector of which the stock Viadukt, IGH and Ingra were halted in trading due to the breach of the daily limit; these stocks were followed by Dalekovod, Lavčević and Hidroelektra niskogradnja.
Of the construction stocks, Viadukt by far had the best performance with a daily gain of +33% and a last price of HRK 1,930. IGH achieved a daily gain of +20% and ended the day at 8,938, while Dalekovod achieved a gain of +17% and a last price of HRK 870.
The positive sentiment did not pass the shipping stocks. Tankerska plovidba ended the day at HRK 3,949, a daily gain of +11%, while Atlantska plovidba achieved a gain of +10% and ended the day at HRK 2,245. The positive sentiment was also felt by other stocks in various sectors.
Regular volume totaled HRK 130.8 million and the most liquid stock was Hrvatski telekom with over HRK 48 million. HT ended the day at HRK 315, which represents a daily gain of 4%. Note, today was the last day to purchase stock of HT in order to have the right to receive a dividend payment.
Slatinska banka (SNBA-R-A) reported that the Commercial Court in Bjelovar has rejected the legal suit filled by Jugobanka.
The shipping company Uljanik plovidba (ULPL-R-A) has announced the start of construction of a new vessel which will transport crude oil (51,800 DWT).
The Croatian Central Depository Agency (SDA) reported that the market value of stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange declined by over HRK 68.5 billion (€ 9.4 billion) or 16.8% the first three months of this year.
