Visegrad Group shares its experience with Western Balkan and GUAM countries

The participants of the workshop in the framework of cooperation with Visegrad Group reviewed the current challenges and opportunities in the international trade, energy policy and attracting foreign investors.
Visegrad Group shared its experience of cooperation with the GUAM and Western Balkans countries.
A workshop on this topic was held upon the initiative of the International Centre for Democratic Transition (ICDT) in cooperation with the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development, and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) in the Courtyard Hotel by Marriott.
Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Dzhalaganiya said at a press conference on the results of the workshop that the main purpose of the meeting was acquaintance with the experience of Visegrad Group (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) in economic development and the assistance of European standards and practical experience in the context of integration with Europe.
According to Dzhalaganiya, participants of the workshop in the framework of cooperation with Visegrad Group reviewed the current challenges and opportunities in the international trade, energy policy and attracting foreign investors.
From its part, the GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili noted the importance of rapprochement with the EU, based on foreign policy priorities.
"Visegrad Group passed this way very quickly and successfully, and their experience is very important for the GUAM countries," he said.
Chechelashvili noted that the inflow of foreign investment was significantly reduced in the GUAM countries due to the global crisis.
"We learned from this workshop about the measures which should be taken to attract investments," Chechelashvili said and suggested the GUAM countries to create a special fund to search potential donors.
