Three consortiums invited to bid for Prishtina

 International Airport Competition for concession of Prishtina International Airport (PIA) has entered in the final phase with the selection of three international consortiums, which have been invited to present their final bids.

Competition for concession of Prishtina International Airport (PIA) has entered in the final phase with the selection of three international consortiums, which have been invited to present their final bids.

In the final race remained Bouyges Batiment/Egis/ Eurokoha - PAIC Consortium; Fraport IC ICTAS Havalimani Isletme A.S and Limak/Aeroport de Lyon Consortium.

Inter-ministerial Steering Committee, which is the contracting authority, invited qualified consortiums to submit their final proposals on the basis of the final Agreement for private- public partnership in Prishtina Airport.

According to the published final documents, the deadline for submission of proposals for the concession of PIA is April 15, 2010.

Government of the Republic of Kosovo says that through private capital investment in Prishtina International Airport, it intends to provide modern infrastructure, improvement of world-class services, benefits and efficiency in operation, increase transparency in the operation and financing of the airport.

Through this concession, according to the government, Kosovo will benefit foreign direct investment worth about €100 million. In addition, the Kosovo budget will be getting a percentage of gross revenues of PIA for the next 20 years.
