The National Meteorology Administration issued a Code Yellow warning of heavy downpours, snow and blizzards in eastern Romania, starting Saturday afternoon till early Sunday.
There will be mostly snowfalls and blizzards from 2pm on Saturday till 8am on Sunday in Moldavia, northern and eastern Muntenia and continental Dobrogea as well as in the Eastern Carpathians, the Forecaster said. Central and southern Moldavia and the relevant mountain area will be blanketed in snow, it added.
The National Weather Forecaster also announced there will be heavy rain on Saturday in most of Oltenia and Muntenia (southern Romania) and southern Moldavia, in the East, where the downpours may locally be in excess of 25-30 litres per square meter and even as much as 50 litres per sqm in some areas.
