The first demonstrations of the opposition will be held in Tirana the next Friday. These demonstrations were inspired by the publication of the video that showed Former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta and Former Minister of Economy, Dritan Prifti. According to the opposition, it showed the philosophy of Berisha’s government.

While the head of the majority presented his offer to the opposition to amend the Electoral Code, the head of the opposition invited the Albanian citizens to participate in the demonstration of January 21. This date was set by the National Assembly of the Socialist Party (SP) for objecting against the government’s corruption.

Rama put emphasis to the corruption files, and according to him, they did not end with Ilir Meta’s resignation. Rama said that this move was only a maneuver, and he thinks that the governmental changes do not remove the government from the corruption in which it has immersed.

“The head of corruption is not Meta, but the so-called Prime Minister, who after stealing the votes to steal Albania, thinks he can save the government by dragging the situation with ridiculous and shameful changes. These topics are at the same time ridiculous and shameful for an Albania, which today is suffering under the power of a corrupted government,” said Rama.

By making these conclusions, Rama said that the demonstrations that begin on January 21st will continue. He also said that all persons who do not accept to be stolen by their government will protest.

“The January 21st demonstration is the only possibility people have to protect the Constitution, law, the institutions and the citizens’ rights and freedoms through the political efforts of the opposition. We are only part of the people’s demonstrations; we want the return of democracy, which was held hostage by a corrupted and criminal government,” said Rama.
