Bulgaria: Police smashed biggest illegal bookies’ grid

The actions of the police took place after several months of monitoring that revealed that bets were made to websites outside Bulgaria via these black lottery posts.

Officers from the Chief Directorate for Fighting with Organized Crime destroyed the biggest illegal bookmakers’ online grid.

Some EUR 20-50,000 of national capital leaked per day via this network and the state budget suffered.

The actions of the police took place after several months of monitoring that revealed that bets were made to websites outside Bulgaria via these black lottery posts.

Their owners created Internet accounts on websites, situated abroad and in offshore zones and bet on sport results via them.
