Montenegro has achieved significant progress in fighting corruption and organised crime, supporting freedom of the media and building close cooperation with the civil society, EU member-states ambassadors concluded at their meeting with the EU delegation in Montenegro.

They also commended the inclusion of civil society in legislation drafting procedures and pledged further expert assistance for reforms activities.

Prime Minister Igor Lukšić presented new legislation, public administration reform and government measures for making the business environment more attractive for FDI.

He promised Montenegro will continue to pursue its European agenda and the key EU recommendations intensely, applying highest EU standards and best practices and honouring deadlines.

“What we have done so far speaks of the Government’s keenness to meet the seven key priorities from the European agenda, but also of our commitment to apply reforms to the best interest of the citizens of Montenegro and the quality of their lives,” concluded Prime Minister Lukšić.
